Every day Sandfire MATSA works to be a reference in the mining sector, which is supported by our leadership, operational excellence and the development of our workforce. In this respect, Sandfire MATSA is proud to have been recognised for its commitment in a number of different areas.
In June 2023, Sandfire MATSA received the Potencia Award in the Mining Action Category at the 17th edition of these awards, given by Potencia Magazine, published by Interempresas Media. This recognition has been possible thanks to the Mining Water Living Lab project, the first platform for technological experimentation in water treatment in the mining sector. This initiative is coordinated by Cetaqua-Water Technology Centre, with the collaboration of the mining company and within the framework of the European Union’s LIFE Remine Water project.2022 Gold Medal from the Province of Huelva.
In 2022, the Provincial Council of Huelva awarded Sandfire MATSA the Gold Medal of the Province, for its contribution to the development of the territory and the generation of employment. Recognition for a sector that is making innovation a key factor for extracting ore in a manner that is compatible with environmental protection, while also leaving a positive footprint in the local environment.
Coinciding with its 25th anniversary, the Serrana Fuente Vieja de Cortegana Association has recognised Sandfire MATSA’s contribution to the social welfare and sustainable development of its community, awarding it the 14th “Hechos y Realidades” (Facts and Realities) Award for the Alliance Programme. This programme is one of the company’s commitments to creating value through opportunity in the local towns. It supports the setting up of projects and activities run by non-profit associations and organisations for the benefit of the community.
The Company received the Almonaster la Real Medal, awarded by the town council, in recognition of the reactivation of mining in Huelva province, and its commitment to the social and economic development of the local environment.
This recognises the social commitment and work of the company. Awarded by the Huelva Federation of Businesses (FOE) and the Cajasol Foundation at the 11th edition of the Businessmen and Women of the Year in Huelva Awards.
This award recognises companies in Andalusia who increasingly invest in the region or offer other circumstances which demonstrate a sustained interest in the Andalusian Community. Awarded by the journal Andalucía Económica.
This recognises the company for their efforts to reactivate mining since 2007. Awarded by Cadena Ser Radio.
In the Economy and Business category, for its significant role in the business sector in the province of Huelva. Awarded by readers of the newspaper, Huelva Información, which belongs to the newsgroup- Grupo Joly.
In the category of the Environment, Energy Savings and the Use of New Technologies. This award recognises the most noted companies and business initiatives for their contribution to the social and economical development of the province of Huelva in different activities and areas of business. Awarded by the Huelva Federation of Businesses (FOE) and Cajasol-Banca Cívica.
In the Science and Technology category of the 2010 edition. This award recognises the promotion and setting up of New Mining Projects and Sources of Employment in the Andévalo District.
